My grandfather was born and lived in Polonka, Hungary till he was 12 yo. I can remember his stories of playing in the castle, going into the dungeons and the legend that the queen who was beseiged never found her treasure, for the legend has it that it was thrown into the well. To find this website sure brought back some great memories.

Lvov is a very very beautiful city, really. I think it is worth visiting any time of the year. Though, I don’t like visiting it in winter because of rains. I like visiting churches. So every time when I am in Lvov I visit St. George’s Cathedral. Here are its photos http://www.worldwalk.info/en/catalog/717/ It is very attractive. I feel warmth and piece there. All my troubles vanish and I am surrounded by beauty.

I am trying to find out more information about the Akkerman Fortress.
Can anyone tell me if a family used to live in this castle. I don’t know the last name but the first name of the male is either Jack or Jacque who had a wife by the name of Sophia and they may have had four children.

the beauty of The Land of Wizards.
That’s where I was born in 1930 and loved it ever since
I only lived there 10 years before our family was
exiled to Siberia on Feb. 10 of 1940, but Stanislawow
and The Land of Wizards remains the land I love.
